Infomir has unveiled its next generation of set-top boxes — the 500-series devices MAG500A (Android TV) and MAG520 (Linux). Both are powered by an Amlogic chipset and show 25% higher performance than last-gen devices.


Infomir's official partners can now pre-order the new arrivals on the company's website. Demo devices are also available to operators wishing to check the set-top boxes' compatibility with their middleware and DRM/CAS systems. Shipments will begin in March.

The New Flagship Set-Top Box: MAG500A with Android TV

MAG500A is an evolved MAG425A. Like its predecessor, MAG500A is a Google-certified device, a testament to the high quality of its software, hardware, and reliable operation. The vendor is committed to providing regular firmware and security updates for the device.


MAG500A Features

Android 9.0

MAG500A brings an upgrade to user experience with Android 9.0: Both the Bluetooth remote and voice assistant now work much better; the device now boasts system-wide auto frame rate; also, apps have been updated and the Settings UI refined. Users also get the benefit of built-in Google services, such as YouTube, YouTube Music, and Google Movies & TV, as well as personalized recommendations, a modern launcher, and access to Google Play Store's catalog of over 7,000 apps and games.


Google Assistant

The set-top box supports voice recognition. All you need to do to use the voice assistant is press a dedicated button on the remote and name the movie, ask for a weather forecast, or make a search query. The assistant will look for the information you need across all the apps installed in the system and show you the search results. Google Assistant can even launch apps, control playback, and adjust the volume for you.


Chromecast built-in

Cast videos, photos, and music from your smartphone straight to your TV screen.


High image quality

With HEVC support, the device smoothly plays 4K HDR1 content at 60 fps, even on low-bandwidth networks.


Dolby Digital PlusTM 2 sound

The set-top box supports eight-channel surround sound.


Peripherals support

MAG500A works with all kinds of wired and wireless devices: it has USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, a Wi-Fi module, an HDMI 2.1 port, and Bluetooth 5.0 support.


Network connectivity

MAG500A is equipped with an Ethernet port and an 802.11b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi module for wired and wireless internet access. The wireless module works on two bands: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. On the latter channel, connection speeds may reach 540 Mbps.


Powerful Linux set-top box: MAG520

The new Linux-based MAG520 is a high-performance set-top box that is 25% more powerful than 400-series devices and easily handles 4K content with eight-channel Dolby Digital Plus sound.

The device ensures smooth playback of high-quality 4K video content.



The powerful Amlogic S905X2 chipset, complete with an ARM Cortex-A53 CPU, keeps playback smooth and the UI snappy.


HEVC and 60-fps 4K video

With HEVC support, MAG520 can play 4K HDR video at 60 fps, even on low-speed connections.


Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity

MAG520 is equipped with a 100 Mbps Ethernet port. The MAG520w3 model also features a built-in dual-band Wi-Fi module, with maximum connection speed reaching 100 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and 540 Mbps on the 5 GHz one.


Surround sound

MAG520 supports eight-channel Dolby Digital Plus sound. 


All must-have interfaces

The set-top box is equipped with HDMI 2.1, USB 3.0, and USB 2.0 interfaces. 


  1. A compatible TV is required for 4K HDR video playback.
